Spring into savings with Rocky Mountaineer Vacations
February 21, 2007
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (February 21, 2007) – With spring just around the corner, savings are in bloom at Rocky Mountaineer Vacations, a company that offers over 70 unique Canadian rail and vacation packages. In April and May there are savings of up to 28% over the regular summer season rates with prices varying according to the vacation package selected, departure date, and level of accommodation. Many packages feature the award-winning two-day, all daylight Rocky Mountaineer rail experience between Canada’s West and the Canadian Rockies including the newest rail route, the Fraser Discovery Route which is a journey through the seldom scene interior between Whistler, British Columbia and Jasper, Alberta.
“Spring in Canada’s West means glacier covered mountains, flowers in bloom and emerging wildlife with their young,” says James Terry, Executive V.P. & C.O.O of Rocky Mountaineer Vacations. “Our spring savings provides guests with a great opportunity to experience nature at its finest while saving hundreds of dollars on their spectacular rail adventure.”
Trans-Canada Rail Adventure Travellers discover Canada’s diverse landscape and culture on the 15 night/16 day Trans-Canada Rail Adventure, a cross-country journey from the Pacific to the Atlantic coasts, featuring all the popular Canadian highlights in between. The adventure begins in Vancouver, B.C. with the two-day Rocky Mountaineer train trip to Banff, AB and ends in the coastal city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Travelling between April 21 and May 21 means savings of 28%, or over a thousand dollars. In addition to 12 nights of hotel accommodation, three nights on VIA Rail, four breakfasts, six lunches and three dinners, this spectacular package also includes such Canadian highlights as: a Banff tour and gondola ride, Yoho Park tour, Icefields Parkway tour and Ice Explorer ride onto a glacier, a Niagara Falls trip and a guided tram tour of Montreal. Prices start from $4899 CDN per person, based on travel in RedLeaf Service, and double occupancy in superior accommodations.
Northern Explorer A variation of Rocky Mountaineer Vacations’ most popular tour, the Northern Explorer includes travel on both of the company’s newest rail routes, the Rocky Mountaineer Fraser Discovery Route and the Whistler Mountaineer train, paired with all the memorable attractions of the Canadian Rockies. This eight night-nine day journey offers savings of 18% and includes two breakfasts, two lunches and eight nights accommodation. Activities include: Jasper Tour, Icefields Parkway tour including Ice Explorer, Yoho Park Tour, Banff Tour, Banff and Whistler Gondola rides and a guided lakeshore stroll at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Prices start from $2699 CDN per person, based on travel in RedLeaf Service and double occupancy in superior accommodations.
As extra incentive, travellers can also take advantage of Vacation Plus, an offer of additional savings this spring. When booking a minimum six-night rail vacation by March 16, guests receive a $200 to $400 per couple credit that can be applied towards trip enhancements such as a meal plan, a limousine sightseeing tour, airfare or the addition of an extra hotel night.
