Vancouver, British Columbia – Mark your calendars! The Whistler Mountaineer, offering daily rail service between Vancouver and Whistler, BC begins its third season of operation on April 23 with an unbeatable offer for British Columbians to save big on fares. The limited time Exclusive BC Residents Offer is available from now until May 31, 2008 and features round-trip fares at $125 CDN for travel until October 19, 2008.

Anyone who has made the short journey from Vancouver to Whistler in the last couple of years knows that this alpine village was recently only accessible by the Sea to Sky highway. When Rocky Mountaineer Vacations launched the Whistler Mountaineer in 2006, that all changed. The train offers northbound and southbound departures, seven days a week and features stunning views of BC’s Sea to Sky region. Guests enjoy letting someone else do the driving while taking in such spectacular sights as  the Howe Sound, Brandywine Falls and the Cheakamus Canyon.  
 
The Exclusive BC Residents Offer features round-trip rates of $125 CDN ($75 for children) for adults travelling in the Whistler Mountaineer’s Coast Classic Experience, which is in a traditional rail coach with large picture windows and assigned seating. For an additional $100 CDN, guests can upgrade to Glacier Dome Experience, a single-level, custom-built dome coach with panoramic views and a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. Access to the unique Heritage Observation Car gives all guests an up-close and personal view of the breathtaking scenery. Prices include meal service in both directions and transportation from downtown Vancouver to the North Vancouver rail terminus and from the Whistler rail station to Whistler Village.
